Sonco Carrasco (1955)

Sonco Carrasco was born in Acomayo, Cuzco, Peru, but lived his childhood in Arequipa. The beauty of this region gave him the inspiration needed to become one of the best and most prolific artists in Peru. Perhaps best known for his watercolor he also masters oil technique. He has received numerous awards including the National Prize of Watercolors Award in 1984 presented by the North-American Peruvian Cultural Institute. He currently lives and works in Lima.
