Jose Luis Serrano (1947)

Born Jose Luis Ramirez Garcia on March 20th, 1947 in Guadalajara Jalisco. Serrano studied art at the prestigious "La Esmeralda" academy in Mexico City from 1963 and until 1968. Since 1970 he held numerous one-man-shows in Mexico City, Michoacan, Guadalajara, La Paz, Oaxaca, Cancun and Monterrey in Mexico as well as Tucson, AZ and San Francisco, CA in the United States and Vancounver BC in Canada. He developed a print technique that he calls Silicografia that gives his work layers of texture along with colors. During the years of 1975 and 1976 he became a professor at his alma-matter.
