Desiderio Hernandez Xochitiotzin (1922)

Born in the Mexican region of Tlaxcala, this noted Mexican painter studied at the Academia de Bellas Artes de Puebla. In 1942, along with other young artists he founded the Union de Artes Plasticas de Puebla. Between 1955 and 1956 he traveled to Sweden where his work was exhibited. His most famous works are the murals inside the Palacio de Gobierno de Tlaxcala, where he chose history of this region as his main subject.
